In 2017, Maritza Brikisak, the executive producer, decided to release a shorter and rated version of 'The Lurking Man' to make it more acceptable for festival audiences. The concept worked, 'The Lurking Man' (2017) was rated PG-13 by the MPAA received 54 nominations and 95 wins in many festivals around the world.

In 2022, an Uncut version is being released exclusively on VOD (Vimeo On Demand). This uncut version is closer to the vision of the writers, it is very dark, it explores the love triangle of Wilson, Caliean and Emerson and shows dark forces possessing and manipulating a man into committing suicide.

It will be in 4K , unrated, it will have a new poster and corresponding unrated trailer.

The writers Keith Rommel and Maritza are very pleased the world will see the film the way it was intended.
